All Things Big Boy

The last couple of weeks with Wesley have been filled with all kinds of big boy activities. I think all the sleep he's getting is making his awake time more fun and productive. His appetite makes me very happy, and he's all about the sippy cup! Oh, and a person cannot cross his path without a big, friendly "HHHHEEEEEEYYYYYYY!!!" I love it!

One of Wesley's favorite things for breakfast is a whole grain waffle with strawberry cream cheese. Can you see the glaze in his eyes??

I finally got over my fear of pizza crust being a choking hazard and let Wesley try it...see the glazed look? He loves it...

What bottle? Just kidding. He still takes a 4 oz. bottle before his nap and an 8 oz. before bed. Other than that, he's all sippy cup.

We went to dinner at Chili's, and Wesley played with the crayons and children's menu while we waited for our meal. Wesley got the grilled chicken platter off the children's menu. He thought it was mmmyyyyummmyyy...

And the big boy moved into his big boy carseat...long overdue!! He loves it. I love it, too. It's so nice to be able to turn around and chat with him at stop lights. He loves looking out the window and telling us about everything he sees!

Wesley turns one tomorrow. I can't believe it. We celebrated his birthday at my mom's house this weekend by throwing the Monkey a monkey birthday party. That will have to be its very own post though.

I finally wrote the "Letter from Mommy" for Wesley's baby book. Here it is:

Dear Wesley, As we approach your first birthday, I am overwhelmed by how quickly this first year of your life has gone by. You have filled our hearts and days with much more love and joy than we ever imagined one person could feel. It has been so much fun watching you grown and explore and learn new things. Your personality is a little more vibrant every day! You are enthusiastic about the world around you, and you delight in everyone you meet! You have my temper--it comes quickly and leaves even quicker. You are loving and affectionate and smart and strong. You make me wish days passed a little slower! Yet, I look forward to every new day! I imagine you walking and talking, learning to ride a bike, writing your name, and singing your ABC's. I cannot for one moment imagine my life without you in it, and I can barely recall my life before you. You, my love, are such a precious gift from our Father, and I thank Him for you every day. I also pray that He will guide me to be the Mommy that you deserve. I love you Sweet Boy. Love, Mommy
